Walk in Your Shoes: Pilgrims' Way

  • Holy Island Lindisfarne TD15 2SE (map)

Walk in Your Shoes 2024 is back!

Join us as we walk Pilgrims’ Way: Beal to Lindisfarne.

This was our most popular walk of 2021. Walking the route to Holy Island that has been taken by people all through the ages is a fascinating opportunity. Mary Gunn, an experienced guide, will lead us across.

As you can see from the image above it will be muddy! Walkers are welcome to walk bare foot as our ancestors did, or modern day wellies would be advised. The ground underfoot will be very slippery.

The walk will start from, and end at, the main car park on Lindisfarne. We will catch Border Buses route 477 to the start of the walk at Beal. Details of the May bus schedules are yet to be announced, but it is likely to be around 10am. We will contact you nearer the time to confirm arrangements. The walk is provided for free but please be prepared to pay the fare.

The walk is approximately 3 miles long and we hope to stop and have lunch together afterwards, please bring your own refreshments.

All route information can be found here.

The walk is free, however booking is required so we can accommodate numbers.

How to use the new ticketing system

All the booking links are below but please be aware we have a new website and online ticketing system.

We are using a new ticket booking system called Line-Up, for our events. if you have a Line-Up account click on greyed out word ‘LOGIN’ in the window below and enter your account details. This will then allow you to book tickets.

If you do not have a Line-Up account. Click on the + (plus symbol) to the right-hand side of the screen to select the number of Adult and Concession tickets you wish to purchase. From here, you will be taken to a screen that registers you with a Line-Up account and takes you through the process of booking the tickets for this event.

We plan to use Line-Up for all our events when we can. Next time you buy a ticket, you may find that your computer recognises that you have already set up a Line-Up account.

If you have any problems please feel free to call the office on 01670 457 808 and we'll be happy to help.
